Fathers And Women Leaders
Muna, Farid A., and Grace Khoury (2012). The Palestinian Executive: Leadership under Challenging Conditions, 127. Story behind the Passage Recently, I have come across several life stories which all shared that the protagonist lost his/her father quite at an early age. All of these stories became published, of course, because the respective people had achieved…

Old Language Old Sins
Raveh-Klemke, Smadar (2013). Ivrit Bekef: Hebräisch für Deutschsprachige, 156. Story behind the Passage A few months ago, I went hiking with a former teacher of mine. We talked about education — my favorite topic — and she mentioned how she had chosen a secondary school for her daughter. Or, rather, it was her daughter doing the choosing, of course,…

Mother Theresa
Spink, Kathryn (2011). Mother Teresa: An Authorized Biography. Story behind the Passage Today I had a short conversation with someone I really admire for her insights, her clarity, and her devoted way of doing good deeds in a system that is not that good over all. This is a perfect transition to the church already!…

Neither Defiance Nor Fear
Graham, Katharine (1997). Personal History, 605. Story behind the Passage Today I watched a few minutes of a movie about a girl who works in a nursing home. One day she takes an old lady, who is really treated like a senile idiot by her children who just want her money, to her former work place — a…

Qaderi, Homeira, and Zaman Stanizai, transl. (2020). Dancing in the Mosque: An Afghan Mother’s Letter to Her Son. Story behind the Passage On some days, writing and reading is less fun. Management Emotion And The University
Corrigan, Paul (1999). Shakespeare on Management: Leadership Lessons for Today’s Managers, 22. Story behind the Passage I really wonder why it is that there is so little passion among university folks. I mean, not in general, they become passionate when they talk about their research. But they are hardly ever passionate personalities in the sense…

Book Of The Week Trost Der Philosophie
Boethius (2016/523). Trost der Philosophie. Story behind the Passage Today, I was really torn which language to write in. But somehow, even though I read the book in German and the original was in Latin, I still decided to write in English. There is no rational reason for this, I guess. And I doubt that…

Book Of The Week Ducktales Das Schlaue Buch In Gefahr
Walt Disney Enterprises (2019). Das schlaue Buch in Gefahr. Lustiges Taschenbuch. Story behind the Passage On some days, there just is not enough time to read. Still, I am happy I am keeping my promise to read something every week — at least kind of… Today I had no other choice. I will have to give you…

Book Of The Week Kein Frieden In Pal Stina
Baumgarten, Helga (2021).
