On Wed, October 9, 2024, one of Dar Assalam’s two guesthouses, Wardaniyeh, was attacked by the Israeli Air Force. The NGO Dar Assalam is our partner organization in Lebanon. Seven people were killed and at least 12 injured in the attack. With the escalation of the war between Hezbollah and Israel and the associated wave of refugees from the south, we took in over 100 refugees in Dar Assalam to give them safety. Now Dar Assalam, the House of Peace, has become a deadly trap for these people. It is completely incomprehensible to us how our house could have become a target of attack by the Israeli military. We are shocked and horrified by the airstrike, we are deeply saddened and share our condolences with those affected by this terrible airstrike.

About Us
In cooperation with NGOs (non-governmental organizations) in Lebanon , especially with the Lebanese NGO “ Dar Assalam for intercultural exchange ”, we support:
- Projects that promote the further education and training of social workers , educators, psychologists in Lebanese refugee camps and women’s organizations , currently especially training in dealing with traumatized people.
- People in Lebanon who are in need (e.g. due to flight, violence, terror, disasters).
- and/or organize events such as lectures, seminars, symposia that serve the international spirit, tolerance in all areas of culture and the idea of international understanding in Lebanon or between Germany and Lebanon.
We appreciate your donations. The association “ Peace and Cultural Exchange – Lebanon eV ” is recognized as a non-profit organization .
Donation receipts are generally only issued for donations of €200 or more, as a donation receipt is only required for donations of €200 or more. For donations of less than this amount, simple proof is sufficient, such as a bank statement, which must show who received the donation and in what amount. If you would like to receive a donation receipt even for donations of less than €200, please let us know by email and we will of course issue the donation receipt.
